September 26, 2017

If you tested any beta version of iOS 11, including the GM, you may have encountered a surprise when trying to update to iOS 11.0.1 that landed earlier today. Anyone with a beta profile still on their device isn’t able to download the update.

But in a just a few steps, you’ll be able to download the latest version of iOS 11.

First, you’ll need to head to Settings > General > Profiles on your iPhone or iPad. Then you need to select “iOS Beta Software Profile.”

Scroll down to the bottom and hit “Delete Profile.” You’ll then need to enter your device passcode, and it will automatically restart. The update should then be available by heading to Settings > General > Update.

Just to note, if you do delete your beta software profile, you can no longer download beta software. You’ll have to reinstall the profile.

In the iOS 11.0.1 release notes, Apple only noted that the update brought bug fixes.
