Use Your Own Pictures to Find New Music With SpotiCam
If you’re looking for a unique new way to discover tracks on Spotify, check out SpotiCam.
The app turns photos into music by analyzing the color in the image. It will then provide track recommendations. It works with both Spotify free and premium accounts.
You can take an image with the app or import one from your library. The app will calculate the average color in the center portion of the picture.
That value is put through a mathematical model to generate track values for Spotify’s recommendation engine in three categories - danceability, energy, and mode.
You’ll then see a number of song recommendations. Just tap the track to start listening in Spotify.
SpotiCam is designed for the iPhone and can be downloaded now on the App Store for free.
