For most of us, the most difficult part of the day is actually turning off the alarm clock and getting out of bed to start the day.

But with the new alarm clock app EcoWake, that dreaded task takes on a new meaning.

Every day you wake up on time, you’ll receive virtual seeds. Those can be used to plant trees I the real world. The app developer is teaming up with non-profit Eden Reforestation to plant trees all around the world.

After you plant a tree in the app, a real tree goes up anywhere from 1 month 6 months.

And along with the great environmental focus, the app is a great alarm clock. To help make sure you wake up in the morning, there is no snooze button. You’ll have to answer a question to turn off the alarm.

EcoWake is designed for the iPhone and all iPad models. It can be downloaded now on the App Store for free.

With the free version, you’ll be able to plant one tree per month and take advantage of five different alarm sounds.

A premium version is also available. A monthly membership is $4.99 while a yearly subscription is $39.99.

That allows you to plant up to 10 trees per month. There are also a number of additional alarm sounds to select from run the morning. You can even build your own virtual forest that unlock the same amount of trees you’ve helped to plant in the real world.
