Watch videos on your terms with Vimeo's latest update
It may not be as popular as YouTube, but Vimeo probably runs a close second in terms of number of users and breadth of content. With its latest update, Vimeo’s app has undergone a major overhaul to add support for iOS 9’s picture-in-picture feature, updated video discovery and playback capabilities, and more comprehensive recommendations for what to watch next.
Better support for the iPad Air and iPad Pro
With the latest update, iPad users can now take advantage of picture-in-picture support under iOS 9. This means being able to keep watching a video even while you’re working in other apps. Vimeo also says it has made commenting on videos simpler on compatible devices, like the iPad Pro.
Find videos even more easily
A large number of these categories make it easy to find great new videos to enjoy.
Looking for something new to watch? Vimeo has improved its search features and updated the navigation tools. The app also includes human-curated categories to browse like Music, Animation, Travel, Documentary, and more. You can even save videos to your device to watch offline, and get great information about content before you even start viewing it.
Updated video player
For fans of HD and 4K video, Vimeo has your back. The updated player streams videos better than ever, and can even provide playback quality at 4K resolution, for devices that support it. Once you’ve finished watching a video, Vimeo gives you custom recommendations for what to enjoy next.
