Weather Up Now Features Interactive Home Screen Widget, Apple Watch App
One of the best weather apps on the App Store, Weather Up, has just added two big new features with the update to version 3.0.
The highlight of the update are interactive home screen widgets. With that, you can see a wide variety of weather information without needing to open up the app.
Some of the different widgets include at-a-glance weather forecasts, next hour rain forecasts, a color-coded temperature, and hourly rain forecast.
You can also select from one of three weather data sources—Apple Weather, Aeris Weather, and AccuWeather. It’s even possible to use a widget from multiple sources on your home screen at the same time.
The widgets are full interactive. For example, you can tap on a day or the next hour rain forecast to see details. Just tap on the arrow to advance in time.
Another big addition in the update is an Apple Watch app. On the wearable device, you can now check on the weather at your location and anywhere else. You can add a widget on the Smart Stack in watchOS 10 and complications to any watchface.
Weather Up is a free download on the App Store now for the iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. You will need a subscription to use the app. That’s available for $4 per month or $40 per year. Either option comes with a free, four-day subscription.
