Writing App Ulysses Updated With iPad Mouse/Trackpad Support and More

April 28, 2020

One of the best writing apps available on the App Store, Ulysses, has added a number of new features in the update to version 19.

Keywords in Markdown Files

First, the app now supports both trackpads and mice on any iPad using iPadOS 13.4

Another big addition is the addition of materials sheets. With those, you can mark a document to exclude sheets from counters, goals, and export. That’s a perfect feature for when you’re using for just research of brainstorming, for example.

You can mark a single sheet or multiple sheets. A special indicator will let you locate those material sheets. Additions to filters will also allow you to show or hide material sheets.

The update also brings the ability to attach keywords to Markdown files.

Finally, the app is compatible with external locations from the Files app like cloud storage providers and more. That means you can edit files from those locations.

Ulysses is designed for the iPhone and all iPad models. It can be downloaded now for free. A free trial period is available. After that, you’ll need a $4.99 monthly or $39.99 yearly subscription to use the app.

A subscription will also carry over to the Mac version of the app. You can download that from the Mac App Store for free.
