Rewind: Big Changes Come to the iPad With iOS 11 Including Drag and Drop
Most notably, drag and drop brings the familiar desktop functionality to the tablet.
The new Files app will give users a true way to see all of the their files on the tablet. Other features in the app includes nested folders, support for iCloud and other online storage providers like Dropbox, a search features, the ability to select favorites, and more.
A new dock looks similar to what is found on macOS and will only show app icons. Just select the app icon and drag it into view and it will automatically be placed into Slide Over view.
There will also be a new QuickType keyboard with new features.
Big improvements are also coming to the Apple Pencil. The stylus can be used to accomplish a number of tasks. You can mark up screenshots and draw in emails using the Apple Pencil. Handwriting can be searched via Spotlight.
The software should officially arrive to the public sometime this fall. Apple also announced a new generation of iPad Pro models at the event as well.
