YouTube's App Now Features a Redesigned Homepage

It won’t take long to see the most notable change. The app’s homepage is redesigned with larger and higher resolution images and a prominent icon that highlights the video creator.

Video fans should also notice more relevant personalize recommendations. A YouTube blog post explains more about the technology powering the new system:

The new recommendation system is based on deep neural network technology, which means it can find patterns automatically and keep learning and improving as it goes. Every day, we recommend hundreds of millions of different videos on Home, billions of times, in 76 languages.

One of the biggest improvements is how the system suggests more recent videos and those from the creators you love. People who have tried the new system have spent more time watching fresh videos and content from their Subscriptions.

The YouTube app is universal and designed for the iPhone/iPod touch, all iPad models, and the Apple TV. It can be downloaded now on the App Store for free.

There’s no need to download an updated app version to take advantage of the new features.
