Can You Help Poppy Escape An Oil Spill in Num Nums?
depicts a group of friendly sea creatures fighting to escape from an oil spill. It seems an oil company got lazy while drilling for oil, causing a massive accident. Some of the animals in the deep have turned into oil zombies. The surviving creatures will need to escape to the surface if they want to live.
Moving in the game is reminiscent of Whale Trail, though this one requires a lot more tapping. And by “a lot” I mean “massive.”
In fact, you’re more likely to get tired of tapping before you get tired of playing.
The air bubble around your character constantly shrinks, so nabbing more air bubbles is essential. No more bubbles, no more playing. Working against you are the oil zombies. They will constantly foul up good air bubbles into unusable ones, all while trying to box you in. Zig-zag to avoid them.
A store is available for buying upgrades, such as improved speed and increased breathing range for capturing bubbles. Poppy is the starting character, though other, more colorful characters are also available from the store. And of course, if you don’t have enough coins, you can always trade in your real money for the fake ones.
Overall the graphics are cutesy and nice looking, though the animation appears to be “jerky” as your character ascends toward the surface.
This is a fun game, though the replay value is lacking. Little variation exists between each session that gameplay can become tedious, especially with all that tapping.
