Quirky App Of The Day: A Witch And Her Broom Make A Great Delivery Service
Delivery Service (Free) by Isamu Sakashita is an endless runner game that might look a little familiar to anime fans. This game is definitely a nod to the famous movie, “Kiki’s Delivery Service.” The witch even flies with an adorable red ribbon in her hair. If you’re not familiar with the movie, don’t fret. It won’t affect your ability to enjoy the game.
I’m a fan of simple controls when it comes to endless runner games. I hate trying to come up with complicated combos. This game has only one button that you need to push. It’s the bright yellow button at the bottom of the screen. When you press it, you fly up. When you release it, you’ll drift downward.
Despite the app’s name, you don’t actually deliver any packages. Instead, you collect as many as you can. You can level up when you collect a specific amount of packages.
The only obstacles that you need to worry about are seagulls flying at you. However, if you read the information page in the App Store, you’re warned against flying turtles.
I love stick figure games. I enjoy their simplicity in design and controls. I especially liked being able to play a game that featured a female stick character. I don’t see many that have stick women.
In contrast to the simple characters and easy gameplay, the app has beautiful backgrounds that you fly across. Delivery Service has a minimalist character design coupled with amazing backgrounds. It’s a game that’s worth trying.
Delivery Service is an iPhone app, and it’s available in the App Store for FREE!
