Quirky App Of The Day: Attack Of The Wall Street Titan Protects The Protesters
Attack of the Wall Street Titan (Free) by DarkTonic Games is a physics-based game that puts a creative spin on the Occupy Wall Street initiative. You are a huge robot and are helping the 99 percent to defeat Wall Street with a little more force than posters and pamphlets.
Wall Street executives have built a giant robot to help squash and drive out the occupiers. Everything is going according to plan until an anonymous activist, or “hacktivist” as he’s called in the game, reprograms the titan. Apparently, the scientists in charge of the project forgot to put up the firewalls.
Once the robot comes online, he’s not planning on hurting the protesters. He’s going after his own creators. People, if we’ve learned anything from science fiction, it’s that you don’t build giant robots with the blind hope that you can control them. It never works out well for anyone.
This is no exception. With a tap of your finger, you can explode cars, blast through tanks, and fling people up into the air. Granted, Occupy Wall Street was meant to be an organization that actively protested the dealings on Wall Street. Many of these protesters wouldn’t condone violence.
On the other hand, if I was going up against a powerhouse of influential people, having a giant robot on my side would definitely be an advantage. I would especially want a giant robot involved when the military shows up and starts blasting away with tanks.
Your job as the robot is to protect the 99 percent. If you happen to accidentally hurt them, you have points deducted from your score. Eliminating the Wall Street executives will give you points. Here’s a hint: the buses that drive through are full of innocent civilians, and blowing them up results in massive deductions from your score.
There are no in-app purchases, but you can still get rid of the ads. If you hit the target score for all three locations, it’ll remove the ads. The ads only pop up when you die. So, they’re not running while you play.
As much as Occupy Wall Street was meant to be peaceful, it was still a fun game that was filled with exploding cars and throwing tanks around.
Attack Of The Wall Street Titan is a universal app, and it’s available in the App Store for FREE!
