Africa. Wild animals.

Every year about two million hoofed mammals (a million and a half antelopes, gnu, two hundred thousand zebras and half a million Thompson gazelles) set out via east African valleys in search of fresh grass and water. This great seasonal migration has passed along the same ‘corridors’ for thousands of years from the south to the north, from the national park of Serengeti in Tanzania to the Kenyan reserve Masai Mara, in July-August. In October-November the animals go back to the south following the torrential rains after which the earth becomes covered with thick high grass. Scientists have calculated that to feed up all of the antelopes, zebras and gazelles passing the annual circle of migration, four thousand tons of grass a day are required.

The predators (lions, leopards, wild dogs and griffons) closely follow the ‘migrants’. All of them hope for easy prey since a great number of animals perish during the trip, especially weak ones due to old age or very young. Crossing the river of Mara overcrowded with crocodiles, antelopes mad with hunger jump off the steep right into the jaws of the reptiles, injure each other, break their legs and often perish, their bodies becoming an original bridge used by the following animals for crossing the seething torrent. However, after the monstrously difficult passage has finished at last, there comes a time for breeding and the total number of animals is regenerated rapidly.

The Antarctic stuns! Instead of white silence, filled with the whistle of a cutting wind only, something incredible appears before you: blue, light pink and greenish ice formations; grottos, caves, columns and whole palaces made as if from turquoise glass. Clouds of albatrosses, seals, whales, skuas and enormous colonies of penguins welcome you on the sixth continent which doesn’t resemble any of the other five continents at all.

Dairy farming is a class of agriculture, where female cattle, goats, or other mammals are raised for their milk, which may be either processed on-site or transported to a dairy for processing and eventual retail sale.

In most Western countries, a centralized dairy facility processes milk and dairy products, such as cream, butter, and cheese. In the United States, these dairies are usually local companies, while in the southern hemisphere facilities may be run by very large nationwide or trans-national corporations (such as Fonterra).

Dairy farms generally sell male calves for veal meat, as dairy breeds are not normally satisfactory for commercial beef production. Many dairy farms also grow their own feed, typically including corn, alfalfa, and hay. This is fed directly to the cows, or stored as silage for use during the winter season. Additional dietary supplements are added to the feed to improve milk production.

Animals Antarctica

Animals Antarctica

Алексей Neronov

Our application will introduce you to the inhabitants of the Antarctica. You immerse yourself in the wonderful world of the mysterious sounds of Antarctic animals. We will show you amazing photos of wild Antarctica.

Few terrestrial vertebrates live in Antarctica. Invertebrate life includes microscopic mites like the Alaskozetes antarcticus, lice, nematodes, tardigrades, rotifers, krill and springtails. The flightless midge Belgica antarctica, up to 6 millimetres (0.2 in) in size, is the largest purely terrestrial animal in Antarctica. The snow petrel is one of only three birds that breed exclusively in Antarctica.

Some species of marine animals exist and rely, directly or indirectly, on the phytoplankton. Antarctic sea life includes penguins, blue whales, orcas, colossal squids and fur seals. The emperor penguin is the only penguin that breeds during the winter in Antarctica, while the Adélie penguin breeds farther south than any other penguin. The rockhopper penguin has distinctive feathers around the eyes, giving the appearance of elaborate eyelashes. King penguins, chinstrap penguins, and gentoo penguins also breed in the Antarctic.

The Antarctic fur seal was very heavily hunted in the 18th and 19th centuries for its pelt by sealers from the United States and the United Kingdom. The Weddell seal, a "true seal", is named after Sir James Weddell, commander of British sealing expeditions in the Weddell Sea. Antarctic krill, which congregate in large schools, is the keystone species of the ecosystem of the Southern Ocean, and is an important food organism for whales, seals, leopard seals, fur seals, squid, icefish, penguins, albatrosses and many other birds.

A census of sea life carried out during the International Polar Year and which involved some 500 researchers was released in 2010. The research is part of the global Census of Marine Life (CoML) and has disclosed some remarkable findings. More than 235 marine organisms live in both polar regions, having bridged the gap of 12,000 km (7,456 mi). Large animals such as some cetaceans and birds make the round trip annually. More surprising are small forms of life such as mudworms, sea cucumbers and free-swimming snails found in both polar oceans. Various factors may aid in their distribution – fairly uniform temperatures of the deep ocean at the poles and the equator which differ by no more than 5 °C, and the major current systems or marine conveyor belt which transport eggs and larval stages.

The polar ear when hunting, readily lies on the ice for hours, moving towards its prey inch by inch and ‘freezing’ instantly every time the target stirs. Only its black nose can be seen in the background of white ice hummocks; cleverly, it covers its nose with a paw to disguise itself. The wind brings a mouth-watering smell of a seal, sleeping next to a hole in the ice. Should the seal detect the slightest rustle or snow crunch, it will dive into the water, where it can never be caught. When the prey is only a few metres away, the polar bear jumps up and covers the distance in a couple of giant leaps. It breaks the skull of a hundred kilogram seal with one punch and then drags its lunch to a place, where it can enjoy the meal without being disturbed.

Music therapy for your cat can keep them calm, happy and healthy, and it is a great way to rehabilitate rescue cats - or just get your kitten or cat used to their new home. Being re-homed is an incredibly stressful time for cats - as they have to get used to a lot of different sights and sounds, as well as their new family and any other pets in the household. We recommend that you play Relax My Cat during this time, and it will help reduce their heart rate and relax them while they explore their new surroundings. No more whining kittens - they will get used to your home in no time at all with the help of Relax My Cat's music! New Kitten Playlist: You may be litter training, which can be a stressful time for both dog and parent, and our music will soothe your kitten making your life easier.

When listening to Relax My Cat you will notice your kitten start to relax, and get more used to their tray, or similarly if you are training them to get used to their travel box. It is also very useful to calm your cat during car journeys - which many kittens find a stressful time. They may associate it with vets visits - so we recommend playing Relax My Cat's music before and after visits to the vet to reduce their stress. Poorly Cats Playlist: The worst time of year for over 60% of cats is Firework season - the loud bangs are really scary for them and you may notice a huge change in your kitty during this time.

Thunderstorms are another difficult time for cats, with the majority of cats being very scared of storms because of the unfamiliar loud noises. Relax My Cat is the perfect solution to this anxiety inducing situation - just play our music to reduce your cats anxiety and make them feel safe.

Our music has improved thousands of cases of separation anxiety and noisy felines all over the world.

Our application will introduce you to the inhabitants of the wild nature Australia. You immerse yourself in the wonderful world of the mysterious sounds of animals. We will show you amazing photos of wild nature Australia.
Also in the appendix contains three mini games and links to other our programs about animals.

The fauna of Australia consists of a huge variety of animals; some 83% of mammals, 89% of reptiles, 24% of fish and insects and 93% of amphibians that inhabit the continent are endemic to Australia.[2] This high level of endemism can be attributed to the continent's long geographic isolation, tectonic stability, and the effects of an unusual pattern of climate change on the soil and flora over geological time. A unique feature of Australia's fauna is the relative scarcity of native placental mammals. Consequently, the marsupials—a group of mammals that raise their young in a pouch, including the macropods, possums and dasyuromorphs—occupy many of the ecological niches placental animals occupy elsewhere in the world. Australia is home to two of the five known extant species of monotremes and has numerous venomous species, which include the platypus, spiders, scorpions, octopus, jellyfish, molluscs, stonefish, and stingrays. Uniquely, Australia has more venomous than non-venomous species of snakes.

The settlement of Australia by Indigenous Australians between 48,000 and 70,000 years ago [3] (research in 2011 using DNA suggesting an arrival around 50,000 years ago),[4] and by Europeans from 1788, has significantly affected the fauna. Hunting, the introduction of non-native species, and land-management practices involving the modification or destruction of habitats have led to numerous extinctions. Some examples include the paradise parrot, pig-footed bandicoot and the broad-faced potoroo. Unsustainable land use still threatens the survival of many species. To target threats to the survival of its fauna, Australia has passed wide-ranging federal and state legislation and established numerous protected areas.

China's vast and diverse landscape is home to a profound variety and abundance of wildlife. As of one of 17 megadiverse countries in the world, China has, according to one measure, some 7,516 species of vertebrates including 4,936 fish, 1,269 bird, 562 mammal, 403 reptile and 346 amphibian species. In terms of the number of species, China ranks third in the world in mammals, eighth in birds, seventh in reptiles and seventh in amphibians. In each category, China is the most biodiverse country outside of the tropics.

Many species of animals are endemic to China, including the country's most famous wildlife species, the giant panda. In all, about one-sixth of mammal species and two-thirds of amphibian species in China are endemic to the country.

Wildlife in China share habitat with and bear acute pressure from the world's largest population of humans. At least 840 animal species are threatened, vulnerable or in danger of local extinction in China, due mainly to human activity such as habitat destruction, pollution and poaching for food, fur and ingredients for traditional Chinese medicine. Endangered wildlife is protected by law, and as of 2005, the country has over 2,349 nature reserves, covering a total area of 149.95 million hectares (578,960 square miles), about 15 percent of China's total land area.

The Prefecture of Nagano is often named ‘The roof of Japan’. This is a mountainous area in the centre of the island of Honshu, where a lot of hot springs are located. The cold climate and abundant snowfalls make the Japanese Alps the real Mecca for lovers of winter sports. But there are much more wonderful things than good mountain skiing here. In the mountainous canyon Jigokudani (which means ‘Hell Valley’), there is a park of monkeys who indulge themselves having a bath. They are Japanese (or snow) macaques – the only monkeys adapted to living in the cold climate.

Photo album by E. Voynitch is devoted to these unique animals, which as a threatened species are in ‘IUCN Red List’.

Our application will introduce you to the animals living on the African savannah, you will hear the sounds of wildlife. Each animal produces multiple sounds, which makes it possible to learn how to better communicate with animals.
Also, you can enjoy high-quality images of animals in their natural habitat.
The application include three mini-games.

Whereas the earliest traces of life in fossil record of Africa date back to the earliest times, the formation of African fauna as we know it today, began with the splitting up of the Gondwana supercontinent in the mid-Mesozoic era.

The continents Laurasia-Gondwana 200 million years ago
After that, four to six faunal assemblages, the so-called African Faunal Strata (AFSs) can be distinguished. The isolation of Africa was broken intermittently by discontinuous "filter routes" that linked it to some other Gondwanan continents (Madagascar, South America, and perhaps India), but mainly to Laurasia. Interchanges with Gondwana were rare and mainly "out-of-Africa" dispersals, whereas interchanges with Laurasia were numerous and bidirectional, although mainly from Laurasia to Africa. Despite these connections, isolation resulted in remarkable absences, poor diversity, and emergence of endemic taxa in Africa. Madagascar separated from continental Africa during the break-up of Gondwanaland early in the Cretaceous, but was probably connected to the mainland again in the Eocene.

The first Neogene faunal interchange took place in the Middle Miocene (the introduction of Myocricetodontinae, Democricetodontinae, and Dendromurinae). A major terrestrial faunal exchange between North Africa and Europe began at about 6.1 Ma, some 0.4 Myr before the beginning of the Messinian salinity crisis(for example introduction of Murinae, immigrants from southern Asia)

During the early Tertiary, Africa was covered by a vast evergreen forest inhabited by an endemic forest fauna with many types common to southern Asia. In the Pliocene the climate became dry and most of the forest was destroyed, the forest animals taking refuge in the remaining forest islands. At the same time a broad land-bridge connected Africa with Asia and there was a great invasion of animals of the steppe fauna into Africa. At the beginning of the Pleistocene a moist period set in and much of the forest was renewed while the grassland fauna was divided and isolated, as the forest fauna had previously been. The present forest fauna is therefore of double origin, partly descended of the endemic fauna and partly from steppe forms that adapted themselves to forest life, while the present savanna fauna is similarly explained. The isolation in past times has resulted in the presence of closely related subspecies in widely separated regions Africa, where humans originated, shows much less evidence of loss in the Pleistocene megafaunal extinction, perhaps because co-evolution of large animals alongside early humans provided enough time for them to develop effective defenses. Its situation in the tropics spared it also from Pleistocene glaciations and the climate has not changed much
