Up, up, and away! As expected, the official tie-in game of “Man of Steel” has flown toward and landed on the App Store.

Coinciding with the theatrical release of “Man of Steel,” the launch of the game, also called Man of Steel, invites you to relive the events of the film.

In the game, as in the movie, General Zod has invaded Earth and only the indestructible title character can thwart his catastrophic plans. But in the game, you get to control Superman himself as he fights the Kryptonian commander and his alien army.

The game features two modes, namely, story mode and survival mode.

In story mode, you journey through a series of locations straight from the movie in an effort to save the planet from total annihilation.

And in survival mode, you get to find out if you’re virtually made of steel by seeing how long you can endure attacks from General Zod’s forces.

As you progress in the game, you can share your score with friends, upgrade your skills, and even unlock up to six suits inspired by the film.

Compatible with iDevices running iOS 5.0 or later, Man of Steel for iPhone and Man of Steel HD for iPad are available now in the App Store for $2.99 and $4.99, respectively.

Man of Steel is developed for Warner Bros. by Phosphor Games, the studio behind Dark Meadow, Horn, and the official tie-in game of “World War Z.”
