Unlock The Man Of Steel's Superpowers With This New App From Kellogg's
From a post on the upcoming Iron Man game, we now proceed to a post on the newly released Man of Steel app. The official tie-in iOS app for the upcoming "Man of Steel" movie has just been released. And it comes to us courtesy of Kellogg's. Now, you might be wondering how come a breakfast food manufacturer is behind an app based on Warner Bros. Pictures' "Man of Steel," whose latest trailer is shown below. The answer is simple: the app promotes both "Man of Steel" and Kellogg's in that you need Kellogg's products to unlock the app's "Man of Steel" content. As a matter of fact, everything in the app is initially locked. And unless you have the necessary Kellogg's products on hand, the app is as useless as Superman's red briefs. If you can't see the video embedded above, please click here. Supposedly, with the Man of Steel app, "you don't need the Earth's yellow Sun to become as powerful as a Kryptonian. You just need to scan specially marked Kellogg's products to unlock the powers of strength, vision, and flight." And these powers are bestowed upon you through special movie effects à la Action Movie FX. You can unlock the strength, heat vision, and flight powers by scanning the strength icon on Kellogg's Pop-Tarts boxes, the heat vision icon on Sunshine Cheez-It boxes, and the flight icon on Keebler boxes, respectively. As you unlock and use these powers, you also get to unlock different types of "Man of Steel" content, which can be found in the in-app vault. These include movie stills, teasers, and games. Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 5.0 or later (and with certain Kellogg's products), Man of Steel is available now in the App Store for free. [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
