Just a few hours ago, we told you about Realmac Software’s plan to offer just one, universal version of Clear for iOS. Now, the initial steps in that plan have been taken by Realmac with the latest updates to Clear and Clear+.

First off, the original version of Clear has been updated with universal support, thereby making it natively compatible with iPad and iPad mini as well as with iPhone and iPod touch.

As for Clear+, it has been updated with support for migrating lists to Clear. But don’t expect Clear+ to stick around for long, since it’s set to be discontinued to make way for the original app’s being the one and only Clear for iOS.

To that end, as we noted earlier, Realmac is going to offer a way for Clear+ users to migrate their lists to Clear for free.

“As Apple doesn’t offer a way to migrate users between copies of an app, we’re going to make Clear free for 24 hours so owners of Clear+ can move to the correct version free of charge,” the developer says. “To make sure as many people as possible can move to Clear, we’re going to do this twice in the next few weeks.”

At the moment, the new universal version of the original Clear is available as a free update to existing users or as a new $4.99 download to new ones (same price as Clear+).

To be notified when Clear goes free, you may sign up on the Realmac website. Of course, we’ll also let you know as soon as it does.
