Apple posts extended 'Your Verse' videos for iPad users Yaoband and Jason Hall

August 13, 2014
Yesterday, Apple added two new "verses" to its "Your Verse" campaign for the iPad, one featuring the Beijing-based electropop musicians of Yaoband and the other featuring Jason Hall, the cofounder of the Slow Roll city bike ride in Detroit. Following the two stories' launch on its "Your Verse" webpage, Apple debuted two new TV ads that double as teasers for the two extended feature videos that have just been posted by the company. Titled "Yaoband on shaping sound," the first video (shown right below) highlights the band's penchant for experimenting with music with the help of the iPad. "How are we different?" one of the band members says in the video. "I think we're bolder. We're fearless. We're not afraid to mix styles and techniques." And the iPad is how the folks of Yaoband capture, record, and perform music, using apps such as Figure, iMPC, iMaschine, Music Studio, MIDI Designer Pro, and Logic Remote. The second video, shown below, is called "Jason on organizing a movement," and it shows Hall talking about Slow Roll and how the iPad helps him with the ride. "My iPad became an essential tool, kind of through evolution," he says. "We use it for everything that we do, from mapping, to communication, to ordering new T-shirts. It helps us get the word out." Hall's favorite apps include Phoster, Penultimate, Prezi, Facebook, Facebook Pages Manager, and The Weather Channel. If you can't see the video embedded above, please click here. Both videos are available to watch on Apple's website and official YouTube channel, which has also just been updated with Apple's new "Diversity" video narrated by Denise Young Smith, Apple’s Vice President of Human Resources. Apple launched the "Your Verse" campaign last January to highlight the iPad’s various capabilities across various settings and pursuits. The campaign's first ad features a voiceover speech from the film “Dead Poets Society,” delivered by Robin Williams, whose passing yesterday has prompted Apple to post a special iTunes section highlighting the legendary actor's work.
