Hugely popular card battle game Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft has just received a notable update to version 2.6.8834.

Most importantly, the app now fully supports 64-bit devices. At least on my iPhone 6 Plus, I definitely noticed that a number of parts of the game opened up faster, and game play seems even speedier.

Tablet players should now be able to purchase multiple card packs at one time with gold. The update also resolved an issue with Invite Spectator and Kick Spectator buttons in the Nearby Players list.

Finally, Blizzard has added a pair of card backs – Heroes of the Storm and Ninja.

Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft is a universal app designed for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad/iPad mini. It can be downloaded now on the App Store for free. There are a number of in-app purchases available for other card packs and expansions.

Just last month, after a long wait, Blizzard unveiled the iPhone version of the app. And instead of just scaling down the tablet version of the game, the iPhone edition offers features designed specifically for smaller screens.

It even nabbed an Honorable Mention nod in our weekly AppAdvice Game of the Week awards shortly after its release.

And a new expansion pack, Blackrock Mountain, also landed back in April. Players can add up to 31 new cards for their collection.
