App Store Description

Parenting: It’s the toughest job we’ll ever love! Join “Dr. Mac”, the internationally known behavior expert on a journey into the realm of positive parenting. Gain a solid understanding of why kids (and their parents) behave as they do. Learn the principles that influence the behavior patterns of children. Use them to your advantage, as you guide your own youngsters toward the making of good behavior choices.
With the Positive Parenting Practices app, you’ll develop skill in decoding the reasons behind your child’s actions. You’ll discover why many recommended approaches fail so miserably, and become savvy in the effective use of proven behavior change strategies.
Once you’re proficient at these skills, it’s time to move on to Dr. Mac’s second app in the series: Advanced Positive Parenting Practices. In that app, you’ll go beyond the basics to master the effective use of directions, praise, criticism, and problem solving meetings.

Dr. Tom McIntyre, former teacher of students with behavior challenges and learning disabilities, is Professor of Special Education and Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Behavior Disorders at Hunter College of the City University of New York.  Often seen on TV, he is the author of 4 books, over 200 articles, and scores of video podcasts. His most recent books, "The Behavior Survival Guide for Kids: How to make Good Choices and Stay Out of Trouble" and “The Immigrant Kid Survival Guide” are written FOR kids.
Now “Dr. Mac” brings his practical, positive, and respectful approach for managing behavior to a comprehensive and entertaining StudyByApp application.  Enjoy his wisdom and humor in the first of a series of his parenting apps.
"Dr. Mac" is the past president of International Teacher Educators of Children with Behavior Disorders, and the New York State Council for Children with Behavior Disorders.  He has received awards from professional organizations for teaching, leadership, service, research, overall professorial performance, and web site development.  His "BehaviorAdvisor.com" is the most popular behavior management web site in the world. One part of that site is dedicated to helping parents of children with behavior challenges.
