With Shopkick, you can check out deals at stores you already shop at by scanning items, making purchases, or just walking in and browsing. When you do this, you accumulate what are called kicks. Earn kicks and then redeem them for rewards which are gift cards to locations like Foot Locker, Yankee Candle, Fandango, and many more.
Browse through the stores. After enabling your location, the app will display kicks for stores nearest you. You can see the type of kick, whether a walk-in or scan, for example, and the tap the store for more details. You will then see how many kicks are available for the different types. For instance, scans are available for products in various categories depending on the type of store. If you choose the walk-ins option, just open the app when you arrive at the store. You may receive kicks for just walking in and then even more as you make your way through the store.
Check out the products. If you have a specific item in mind, just tap to open the products section. Items are categorized by women, men, baby and kids, and lifestyle. Once you select a category, you will see a nice display of options grouped together and then tap to see what’s inside. For instance, if you choose lifestyle and then DIY Time, you can review a selection of tools or if you pick Baby and Kids and then Rattled, you can look through cute rattles for your little one. Each product shows the store and price, plus you can tap to save one.
Look through the deals. If you prefer to see the deals instead of browsing stores, the app has a great section for that spotlights specials. For example, get 40 percent off at Michael’s or 50 percent off at Home Depot. Selecting a deal will show you details and exclusions, allow you to save it with a tap, or share it with a friend via text or email. If you are ready to head out to the store, you will see the distance from your location and can get directions right within the app.
