What is it about?
XCAT-Dose is a calculator that uses scanner independent factors, derived from Monte Carlo simulations to human models, to predict organ dose, effective dose, and SSDE. Dose predictions are based on patient attributes for 39 computed tomography (CT), tomosynthesis, and radiography protocols.

Key features:
• XCAT-Dose offers organ dose, effective dose (ICRP-103), and SSDE (AAPM TG 204) in a unified platform.
• Estimates are based on scanner independent factors derived from Monte Carlo simulations to a population of anatomically variable human models (XCAT).
• Tomosynthesis and radiography estimates are possible for 16 protocols including views of the head, chest, abdomen, hip, knee, cervical spine, thoracic spine, and lumbar spine.
• CT estimates can be made for 10 body, 3 head and neck, and 10 extremity protocols for both fixed and modulated tube current.
