HP's iPrint App Goes 3.0, Gets Many New Features
August 27, 2010
While the "HP iPrint Photo" was originally created to simply print photos wirelessly to HP printers, it has grown into much more.
HP iPrint Photo is a free universal app for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch that just got updated to version 3.0. Like many other apps, this one received updated graphics (particularly for the iPad version) but HP didn't stop there.
HP iPrint Photo 3.0 not only prints photos, but can now print text documents and PDF files thanks to iOS's new "Document Support" functionality. Got a document in email? Simply tell your iDevice to open it with HP's iPrint and you can print it wirelessly. This also works with any other app on your device that has the "Document Support" feature enabled.
If your HP printer is one of the new "E-All-In-One" models from HP, you can even scan images straight to your iDevice. Need to get them off the device? You can even transfer documents to and from the app using iTunes. Don't want to sync? Like many file sharing apps that cost $5-$10 in the App Store, this free app lets your transfer files wirelessly using WebDAV.
If you have a network connected HP printer or all-in-one, this app is a definite must have. If you had a previous version but haven't used it in a while, then you will likely be blown away by how much the app has changed.
