Introducing The App Hall Of Fame And First Inductees
by Staff Writer
October 12, 2010
The App Hall of Fame is a brand new collaborative effort to highlight apps, and help with app discovery. Every month 12 new apps will be inducted into the Hall of Fame, and the choices are from a selection committee comprised of 40 web and print publications including AppAdvice. To be eligible, apps must have been in the App Store for six months, and the top 12 vote getters from the selection committee each month will be inducted.
The first 12 inductees are some of the most well known in the App store, but hopefully as we go along we will present some hidden gems to you. The first one though has to be the best like the inaugural Baseball Hall of Fame class of '36 of five members: Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, Honus Wagner, Walter Johnson, and Christy Mathewson. Let us know what you think of the App Hall of Fame, and of the first inductees.
Without further ado I present the inaugural inductees into the App Hall of Fame:
Angry Birds by Rovio
Flight Control by Firemint
Doodle Jump by Lima Sky
Shazam by Shazam Entertainment
Evernote by Evernote
Plants vs. Zombies by PopCap Games
Pandora Radio by Pandora Medias
Simple Note by Codality
Twitter by Twitter, Inc.
Instapaper by Marco Arment
Homerun Battle 3D by Com2uS
Fieldrunners by Subatomic Studios
