Death Worm Goes Universal: iPad Users Now Get The Full City Destroying Experience

November 27, 2010
Despite this addictive game already being designated an "absolute must" by our review team, PlayCreek's first update for the title makes it even more enjoyable. Even though this update has such a small version number increase, Death Worm v1.01 seems like a significant update to me. Foremost, iPad owners now have the same feature-set as iPhone and iPod touch users, including multitasking and Game Center integration. Being released as a universal app makes it all the sweeter. Not only is it nice having a fully native experience on our big screen iDevice, but the extra screen space really comes in handy. While it isn't a problem for our pocket-sized iOS-powered devices, our fingers can sometimes obstruct the view. With the iPad, that's not typically an issue. This may seem more important now that Death Worm has a camera zoom slider to the right of the special action buttons. Want to spend hours on simply working to create the most destruction and mayhem for the highest score? Take your shot in Death Worm's new endless Survival mode, or dive into the new mini-game, Air Defense, where you launch crates to take down choppers and UFOs. I'm going to be honest, this game reminds me so much of the film Tremors. Death Worm is compatible with iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch running iOS 3.0 or later. Game Center features require iOS 4.1 or later on iPhone or iPod touch, while iOS 4.2 or later is needed for Game Center on iPad.
