BBC iPlayer To Hit Western Europe First, By The End Of The Year

BBC iPlayer is in the process of planning its international rollout, but don't get too excited - before the online service hits the USA, it's heading to western Europe, apparently by the end of this year.
While we previously speculated that BBC iPlayer was going to hit the USA soon, it now looks like the service is a while off its highly-anticipated voyage across the Atlantic. As originally reported by the Guardian, the international version of BBC iPlayer will debut first in western Europe by the end of this year, before possibly hitting the USA and beyond.
However, there is one snippet of good news, and that's the price. Apparently, while the service will require a monthly subscription fee, it will reportedly be minimal - under $10, according to the Guardian. Meaning you'll be able to enjoy classic Brit shows like "Doctor Who," "Top Gear" and more for a very reasonable price (though, as of this moment, the final figure hasn't been decided).
