BBC iPlayer - Coming Soon To The USA?

It would appear that BBC iPlayer is about to go international, according to the already-available BBC News application.
While the BBC's iPlayer service is currently available in the UK only (along with the accompanying iPad application), it looks like the service is about to launch in various other countries across the globe, presumably including North America. As you can see in the above screenshots, a new section displayed in the BBC News app tells American users that "BBC iPlayer is launching soon around the world." Furthermore, users can sign-up for a chance to receive "an exclusive preview invitation."
Obviously, this suggests that the BBC is taking its iPlayer service across the ocean, to North America and beyond. While we don't know exactly when the service will launch internationally, add your email address to the aforementioned mailing list and the BBC will keep you posted - or even give you an exclusive preview of the service, if you're lucky.
