Jailbreak Only: FakeLocation - You're Here, Now You're There

June 27, 2011
Yesterday, the folks over at iPhone Download Blog posted on a jailbreak app that really caught my attention. It's called FakeLocation and, as you might have guessed, the application allows iPhone owners to trick other apps into thinking they're somewhere they aren't. As you might expect, there's a lot you can do with an app like this - even something as simple as tricking Facebook or Twitter when posting a geo-tagged update could be worth gold in the right situation, don't you think? With FakeLocation, users can set a list of apps that are affected by the jailbreak trick, along with setting a "fake location" on a map (as you can see in the screenshot above). Currently, the application is available to download in Cydia (via the default repositories) for €2.79, which is around $4. Furthermore, the app comes with a trial, too, so you can try before you buy. Could you see yourself using this application? Let us know in the comments.
