Good News, Jailbreakers: JailbreakMe Domain Now Owned By Jay Freeman

October 8, 2011
Yesterday, we heard that the JailbreakMe domain (that's http://jailbreakme.com) had been sold to an unknown person, and that the Web-based jailbreak solution, which was developed by @comex, would be transferred to a new domain. However, Jay Freeman (@saurik) has confirmed via Twitter that he is now in control of the account, meaning the JailbreakMe website we know and love will remain exactly the same for the time being. According to Jay Freeman's several tweets:
Yesterday, we learned that jailbreakme.com was sold in July; today, I talked with the new owner: he is actually very likable and awesome. ;P ...and tonight, jailbreakme.com was transferred to me (convenient, as I host the site ;P); so, going forward, we no longer need to worry! :D
Currently, JailbreakMe is the only way you can jailbreak an iPad 2. Conveniently, it's also the easiest jailbreak method out there - all you have to do is visit the website in Safari for iOS, and follow the instructions there (no wires required!). Now Jay Freeman is in control of the domain (he also hosts the website, too), jailbreak fans can be sure that the website is as safe as it always has been. If you're interested in jailbreaking your iOS device via this method, visit JailbreakMe in Safari for iOS, and follow the instructions. [via Redmond Pie]
