MobileMe Users Can Now Migrate Their Accounts Over To iCloud

Earlier today, Apple launched iCloud (along with iOS 5). However, in launching iCloud the company is also discontinuing its not-so-successful MobileMe service. But it's not all bad news for fans of MobileMe. Besides the additional iCloud storage MobileMe users qualify for, Apple also launched a migration tool today that can move MobileMe Mail and Calendars over to iCloud.
In order to use the tool, MobileMe users will need to have updated to both OS X Lion 10.7.2 (via Software Update) and iOS 5 (via iTunes).
Furthermore, Apple has noted that MobileMe services not making the move to iCloud will still be available until June 30, 2012. These services include Gallery, iDisk and iWeb publishing. However, as MacRumors notes, many MobileMe syncing services will also be abolished immediately once users move to iCloud, such as "Dashboard Widgets, Dock Items, Keychain, Mail Accounts, Mail Rules, Signatures, and Smart Mailboxes, and Mac OS X Preferences."
If you've configured iCloud and iOS 5 on your iOS device, feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.
