The launch of Apple's iPhone 4S yesterday provided Sprint with record-breaking sales, and AT&T announced that it doubled its previous record for the highest number of iPhone activations in a single day.
It's the first time Sprint has carried the iPhone. According to Fared Adib, Sprint’s Product Chief:
Sprint today reported its best ever day of sales in retail, web and telesales for a device family in Sprint history with the launch of iPhone 4S and iPhone 4.AT&T also noted in a statement that it was "on-track to double [its] previous record for activations on a single day." It would appear that the huge number of activations was too much for the carrier to handle. Despite the lack of a major redesign, interest in Apple's iPhone 4S has been phenomenal. Massive queues appeared outside of Apple Stores around the world, and preorders for the handset were also incredibly high. Did you unpack an iPhone 4S yesterday? Let us know your thoughts on the handset in the comments! [via Apple Insider]
