Educational and entertaining Honey Tribe: Colony Collapse is a game that's fun for the entire family. Meet Corbee, a young drone bee who has been put in a very dire situation. His hive is one of many succumbing to colony collapse disorder. To help save the other bees, Corbee must be strong and temporarily take the role of a worker bee to collect nectar, which will be used to fed the brood and possibly cure the current bees. s
Following the instructions of Doc Bloom, Corbee takes to the sky and performs the nectar gathering trips normally done by numerous worker bees. Unfortunately, many dangers exist but with the Doc's continuous reminders of how critical the task is, Corbee pushes on.
As Corbee bobs along his way, all it takes is a simple tap and hold to change his altitude. Sounds easy enough, right? Of course, the objective is to harvest nectar from various flowers. To do this, simply have Corbee fly into them. The nectar amount collected is shown in the top-left, and the distance back to the hive is shown as a faint line near the top of the screen.
In Story mode, which is where you should be starting, the situation is played out in cutscenes featuring both fact and fictional elements. Each nectar run, or level, introduces a new mission and new obstacle for Corbee to avoid. Hazards include items such as rain, frogs, spiders, humans, praying mantises, and that extremely persistent bird.
Thankfully, all hope isn't lost for Corbee. A little ways into the story, you'll find that our young bee hero gets some help from his friend, Phoebee. Whenever Corbee collects a star, Phoebee zips into action, helping to collect nectar and destroy most hazards.
In addition to what I've mentioned already, Honey Tribe: Colony Collapse HD also features an endless gameplay mode, all ages appropriate humor, Game Center integration, plus a great soundtrack and wonderful artwork.
