Winners Of 8th Annual International Mobile Gaming Awards Announced

As part of this year's recently concluded Mobile World Congress held in Barcelona, Spain, the winners of the 8th Annual International Mobile Gaming Awards were announced. Touted as the world's number one competition for mobile games, the IMGA 2012 highlighted the past year's best iOS games, from developers across the globe, in different categories. • Grand Prix: Infinity Blade II by ChAIR Entertainment, USA
• Judges Honorable Mention: Contre Jour by Mokus Games, Ukraine
• People's Choice Awards: Flick Tennis by Rolocule Games, India
• Excellence In Gameplay: Infinity Blade II by ChAIR Entertainment, USA
• Most Innovative Game: Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP by Capy, Canada
• Best Casual Game: Sprinkle by Mediocre AB, Sweden
• Best Real World Game: Meatspace Invasion by C4MProd, France
• Best Sports Game: Touchgrind BMX by Illusion Labs AB, Sweden
• Best Mobile Social Game: Charadium II by On5, Lithuania

Aside from the inherent prestige of being honored by an established award-giving body in the mobile gaming industry, €100,000 worth of free publicity was also given to each of the winners, with the overall winner bagging €400,000 of the same. These prizes were courtesy of one of the IMGA's Platinum sponsors, ProSieben Sat1 Games. As can be seen from the list of winners, Infinity Blade II emerged as the top favorite, winning not only Grand Prix but also Excellence in Gameplay. Both awards are, of course, well-deserved.
