Infinity Blade II's much-teased-about ClashMob update has slashed its way to the App Store.
The update formally introduces ClashMob, a new game mode that effectively adds a new social layer to the widely praised sword-fighting game. Arriving on the heels of the game’s excellent optimization for the new iPad’s Retina display, ClashMob enables you to take up the gauntlet and wield your blade with hundreds or even thousands of other players for an epic battle against a truly monstrous adversary. Victory in this kind of battle awards you with more cash, new gear, and other select items. ClashMob expressly encourages social gaming in that the more players you persuade to answer your call to arms as part of your Mob, the better your chances of reaping the ClashMob challenges’ rewards.
In addition to the ClashMob campaign, the update brings new pieces of equipment and new types of monsters. A couple of changes in the handling of gems are also put into effect, allowing for easier gem swapping and introducing a new option to forge three gems into a more powerful one.
Infinity Blade II is the sequel to Chair Entertainment Group’s equally well-received hack-and-slash game, Infinity Blade. Both titles are noted for their engaging gameplay and high production value.
