Through the power of the App Store, and the games contained within it, you can become almost anything your heart desires. Become an almost God like immortal warrior in Infinity Blade II or a renegade cop in Max Payne Mobile. If none of those suit your fancy, how about taking on the life of a Linux developer? A new game, being developed by Lunduke, sees you take on a role that I doubt many of you have dreamed of filling. Lunduke is working on Linux Tycoon, a game they are calling "the world's premiere Linux Distribution Building Simulation game in the universe." Sounds thrilling doesn't it? The game will be instantly familiar to anyone that has played a Tycoon type game before, though there will be no roller coaster creation here. Instead, the aim of Linux Tycoon will be to create the worlds finest Linux distributor. Have I lost you yet? Are you still unclear about what Linux Tycoon will require you to do? Lunduke has kindly provided a list of some "thrilling" examples of the challenges you will face in Linux Tycoon:
Linux Tycoon is already available for purchase, in a beta form, from Lunduke.com. It is currently availble on Linux, Windows, or OS X. You will have to wait a little longer to play it on your iOS device, however. Lunduke is even working on bringing online play to Linux Tycoon, which will make the game the worlds first "MMOLDBSG (Massively Multiplayer Online Linux Distro Building Simulation Game)." It seems like an impressive project which is gaining a lot of attention online. Does this game appeal to you? Or does it feel a little too geeky? I'm on the fence on this one though I'll definitely be trying it out soon!
- Analyzing and selecting software packages.
- Fixing Bugs.
- Managing volunteers and paid staff.
- Keeping the total size (in MB) of your Distro at a reasonable level.
- And so much more!
