Readdle's Remarks App Gains Further Handwriting Enhancements And More

April 25, 2012
Released in February, Remarks was a little rough around the edges, but Readdle promptly released a couple of updates to take care of the essential betterment needs. Today, the improvements continue with the release of Remarks v1.3. As the first step onto the update path, Remarks v1.1 included an enhanced handwriting engine with smoother output, document zooming support, and the option to store and share documents using a Google Docs or Dropbox account. In Remarks v1.2, Readdle simply added support for the third generation iPad's Retina display. Of course, that's a good thing, though it doesn't apply to everyone. Moving onto Remarks v1.3, the focus has returned to handwriting and cloud storage. This time around, Readdle has added speed sensitivity to the handwriting recognition, resulting in even more realism. Specifically, writing quickly causes a thinner, weaker line and slower movement creating a bolder and thicker output. Regarding cloud storage, synchronization is now automatic. Remarks is compatible with iPad running iOS 4.2 or later, and available in the App Store for $4.99.
