Infinity Blade II About To Unlock Huge Vault Of Tears Update

May 21, 2012
As it happens, Fruit Ninja isn't the only hugely popular iOS game that's coming out with a huge update on May 24. Infinity Blade II is also set for "the largest free content update for the game to date," according to the game's joint developers, ChAIR and Epic Games. The acclaimed sequel to the equally acclaimed action iOS game Infinity Blade, Infinity Blade II will become even more engaging come Thursday. Dubbed Infinity Blade II: Vault of Tears, the forthcoming update will add all sorts of new stuff. There will be new realms to explore (thanks in part to a new treasure map), new enemies to fight, new items to unlock, and new social layers to take advantage of. The last category of new features, in particular, draws on the recent ClashMob expansion and entails quite an unexpected turn of play. Following the update, even non-players will have the ability to inflict "in-game damage with the power of liking and retweeting battle calls on Facebook and Twitter." Lol, srsly? The titular chamber, Vault of Tears, sounds a bit emo, and so the uninitiated might wonder what it has to do with an action-packed hack-and-slash game. But Vault of Tears actually pertains to the solitary prison in which the maker of the Infinity Blade was locked up. Why and by whom, you ask? Well, I guess you just have to play the game and find out for yourself. Get a load of the preview images from the upcoming update below, and be ready for the Vault of Tears to be unlatched on May 24.
