Dolphin Browser For iPad Updates To Version 5.0

June 1, 2012
While the iPhone version of the popular, third-party Dolphin Browser has been on the receiving end of some great updates recently, developer MoboTap has not forgotten about the iPad edition. Dolphin Browser for iPad has been updated to version 5.0 today and is highlighted by a slate of four new features. Along with various performance and stability improvements, the browser will now remember and save password information for future use, which definitely comes in handy. And along with passwords, Dolphin also remembers your browsing history, bookmarks, and searches to making typing in the URL bar ever faster. Probably the most interesting feature is the new Dolphin Connect. Thanks to a redesign, users can more easily sync bookmarks across all devices with the Dolphin Browser installed. The new version also allows the ability to quickly share webpage URLs through email. Despite the improvements, the iPad version of the browser still doesn't feature the voice recognition Dolphin Sonar option that highlights its iPhone cousin. The feature can be activated by pushing a button or shaking your phone. With Sonar, users can search websites, navigate the browser, or instantly share a link on Facebook or Twitter with just a voice command. You can download the Dolphin Browser for iPad free in the App Store. Dolphin Browser for the iPhone is also currently free and available in the App Store. The Dolphin Sonar feature is available via a $0.99 in-app purchase. The iPhone edition is still stuck on version 4.1, but I would expect that it will be updated soon with some, if not all, the features from the new iPad version.
