Songza Goes Universal: New iPad Version Comes Complete With Innovative Music Concierge

June 8, 2012
As I write this, I'm contentedly listening to a playlist called Epic Film Scores. I arrived at this interesting playlist via Music Concierge, the flagship feature of this amazing little app called Songza. I simply rang the bell, so to speak, for Music Concierge, specified that I'd like to work with largely instrumental music in the background, and eventually came to the Epic Film Scores section of the app. As a longtime fan of the likes of John Williams, I'm really impressed with how Songza has managed to come up with my kind of jam. And if you'd like to experience and hear the wonders of Songza firsthand, simply download the app from the App Store. It's free and, thanks to its latest update, it's now universal as well. Originally designed for iPhone and iPod touch only, Songza is now fully optimized for iPad. Songza is already a joy to use on either of the two smaller iDevices, but the iPad's bigger screen lends itself superbly to Songza's functions. In addition to the Music Concierge, the app's other recommendation engines, including Popular, Explore, and Search, are well-suited to the iPad's UI space. Of course, with the app's universalization comes its requisite support for the new iPad's Retina display. Songza for iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch is available in the App Store for absolutely free. Even as it allows unlimited music streaming, the app has no audio ads. Note, though, that owing to licensing constraints, Songza's services are accessible to users in the U.S. only. But between you and me, it works perfectly for me even if I'm a U.S. iTunes account holder living outside the U.S. And like the film scores I've been listening to, Songza is simply epic.
