Google+ Updated With Full Support For The iPad

July 10, 2012
The Google+ app has been updated with full iPad support and a host of other new features. Version 3.0 of the app, also for the iPhone, now features an iPad-optimized layout and support for the Retina display. Also included in the update is the ability to create mobile hangouts and video chat with up to nine of your friends, which does sound interesting. The app also adds support for Google+ Events. Much as it sounds, Events allows users of the social network to invite friends and family to a gathering. Finally, users can attach instant upload photos to post. Google first showed off the tablet edition of the app in late June at its I/O conference. The Google+ app is now a universal app designed for both the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad. It can be downloaded in the App Store for free. While Google’s relationship with Apple could be termed interesting at best, the company has had no problem focusing development on the iOS platform. Most recently, Google’s Chrome browser made the jump to iOS. Our own Christine Chan, in her review, called it one of the company’s best iOS apps to date and said she will be using it as her main browser on iOS devices.
