How To Easily Mute Your Jailbroken iDevice With TapVolumeToMute

For iPhone users, it's possible to easily switch the iDevice over to Silent Mode using the mute switch, which is obviously located along the left-hand side of the smartphone. However, not all iDevice owners are so lucky: for certain iPod touch owners, and for iPad owners using the side switch as an orientation lock rather than a mute switch, there's no way to quickly enable Silent Mode on the iDevice in-question. Fortunately, a new jailbreak tweak called TapVolumeToMute can help these iDevice owners out, according to JailbreakNation.
As the website notes, the new jailbreak tweak allows users to quickly enable Silent Mode without requiring access to a side switch. Once downloaded and installed, TapVolumeToMute users can quite literally tap the volume icon (which is invoked when the physical volume keys are pressed) to mute the iDevice entirely.
It's a handy tweak, and as mentioned, it will be particularly appreciated by jailbreakers whose iDevices don't have a dedicated mute switch. Currently, TapVolumeToMute can be downloaded in the Cydia Store for free - check out the jailbreak tweak now, and for more information take a look at the below walkthrough video. Enjoy!
