Is Production Of The Next iPhone Already Underway?

Another day, another rumor. At least, that's how it is in the world of Apple. From leaked parts to upgraded components, there's always something to drool over or be skeptic of before a new product is revealed. Whatever is or isn't true may not matter, as Japanese blog Macotakara has stated that the next iPhone is already in production in China.
According to Mashable, Macotakara's sources were spot-on regarding the iPhone 4S' release. The blog reported in August 2011 that the iPhone 4S would launch the following October, which it did. That gives us a two month timeframe between production and release, so does that mean the next iPhone could launch as soon as September?
I doubt it.
Apple's October release of the iPhone 4S broke the cycle of summer releases that all previous iPhones followed. This year's WWDC brought the announcement of iOS 6, which is to launch this fall. The iPhone 4S shipped with iOS 5, which was announced at WWDC 2011 just a few months before. So, if that's anything to go by, I'd say that Apple will do things according to the schedule they set up last year.
Of course, we won't know anything until Apple confirms it. As always, we'll keep you posted.
What do you think (or hope) that Apple will unveil at their upcoming fall event?
