New CoverMeNot Jailbreak Tweak Improves Banner Notifications

July 8, 2012
A new jailbreak tweak called CoverMeNot has the power to greatly improve banner notifications, according to iDownloadBlog. As our readers will know, when a banner notification appears on an iPhone handset, the banner encroaches onto the handset's screen and covers content displayed in any given open application. However, once CoverMeNot has been downloaded and installed, when banner notifications appear the iPhone's status bar doubles, meaning banners don't cover any section of the smartphone's screen beneath the double-sized status bar. As iDownloadBlog notes:
Once the banner notification times out, the status bar is resized back to normal. If you’re tired of incoming banner notifications covering up your on screen content, then you need to try CoverMeNot.
There are no settings for the jailbreak tweak, and no new Home screen icon appears after installing CoverMeNot. Currently, the tweak can be downloaded for free in the Cydia Store (via the ModMyi repository). Take a look at CoverMeNot now, and for more information, check out the walkthrough video below.
