Amazon’s Newest Kindles Could Be Unveiled Sept. 6, Six Days Before Apple's iPad Mini May Arrive

Amazon, the nation’s largest online retailer, has announced that they will hold a press event on Thursday, Sept. 6. While not yet confirmed, this will probably be the day Amazon reveals their second-generation Kindle Fire, and other next generation Kindle devices.
According to the invitation, Amazon will hold their event in Santa Monica, Calif.
First introduced last fall, the Kindle Fire remains the best-selling product on Amazon.com. However, it has largely failed to take on Apple’s iPad.
Although recently rumored, a Kindle Phone isn't expected to be announced next month.
This fall, Apple is expected to take on the Kindle Fire with a new iPad Mini, which may be unveiled at Apple’s own fall event. That event will likely be held on Wednesday, September 12.
