Apple might have launched a brand-new, fast and shiny "Lightning" iPhone cable for its sixth-generation handset, but at the company's iPhone event we didn't hear much regarding updates for its HDMI and VGA adapters. Fortunately, Apple has recently announced that updated versions of its audio-visual connectors will indeed be available "in the coming months."
Little has been announced in the way of pricing, but it's worth bearing in mind that the 30-pin HDMI adapter for the iPhone 4S and iPad is available for $39 (from the Apple Online Store). It's most likely that the new connector will match the price of the old one.
Apple's iPhone 5 went on sale this morning, but shipping estimates of two weeks have angered many. Have you managed to preorder the sixth-gen handset? Let us know in the comments.
