Hello Tips, Tricks And Secrets For Mountain Lion Is Now Mobilized
September 5, 2012
Released alongside OS X Mountain Lion, the Hello Tips, Tricks & Secrets app is one of the best ways to discover OS X functions that are so useful, but you wouldn't even imagine they exist. While the app is very convenient on your Mac, It's About Time is now offering a mobilized version, an iBook.
Having a slightly different title to help differentiate and keep clarity, Hello Mountain Lion Tips, Tricks & Secrets includes the same content as the Mac app, although, it's much more mobile. Available anytime your iPad is near, Hello Mountain Lion Tips, Tricks & Secrets presents everything to you through the enhanced iBooks format that was introduced alongside iBooks Author.
Both Hello Tips, Tricks & Secrets versions, app or book, for OS X Lion and OS X Mountain Lion provide highlights of more than 100 features of Apple’s desktop operating system. The tips and tricks database comprises everything from a folder renaming shortcut in Finder to Twitter and other integrated sharing options.
Focusing on the frequently used features, these “tip” style lessons have an average involvement of about 30 seconds. Each mini-lesson contains brief written instructions and explanations, including visual key combo assistance, as well as a short demonstration video. It’s an experience that may be short, but is certainly effective.
The navigation of Hello Tips is just as efficient as the mini-lessons. There are Back and Next buttons to navigate in a lesson-by-lesson fashion, or jump to a specific app or feature by clicking on the associated icon at the bottom. In addition, tips and tricks specific to Mountain Lion are spotlighted with a green “New” flap in the top-right corner.
Hello Mountain Lion Tips, Tricks & Secrets is compatible with iPad running iOS 5 and iBooks v2.0 or later, and available in the iBookstore for $1.99.
