After just a little less than a week of waiting, the very popular Netflix app has just been updated to support the 16:9 screen of the new iPhone 5. Along with taking advantage of the larger iPhone’s screen, the new update adds support for iOS 6. The update also brings an improved browsing, searching, and watching experience on iOS devices. While we’ve known for a while that a Netflix update was coming, I’m glad to see that it is finally here. I usually watch my movies and TV shows on the larger and more pixel dense iPad, but it will be interesting to watch widescreen movies on my new iPhone 5 without any annoying letterboxing. Netflix is a universal app designed for both the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad. It is available to download in the App Store for free. But you must have a streaming subscription with the service to watch movies and TV shows. What other apps are you hoping will be optimized for the iPhone 5 soon?
