Eating well-balanced meals and doing gym-style exercises is certainly a good way to get back into or stay in shape. However, another good choice is a routine walking, jogging, bicycling, or hiking workout accompanied by a GPS tracking app. One of those options, the free and highly rated RunKeeper that is now even better than ever. While already equipped with numerous handy features, including synchronization with RunKeeper.com, and an efficient user interface, the recently released RunKeeper v2.7 makes it even easier to train at your own level.
As always, you can track an activity whenever the need arises, although, it's now possible to create, manage, and track training plans within just a few seconds. RunKeeper contains two predefined plans, but it's the ability to create customized workouts that will be of the highest benefit.
Selected and adjusted within the Coaching section, each interval of the workout can be configured. The interval options consist of slow, steady, or fast pace as well as time or distance measurement. So, for example, you can have a slowly increased workout to get you started and then a long steady paced stretch when you're capable. Of course, you can manage plans from either the app or website in the same way RunKeeper has previously allowed for activity tracking.
In addition, RunKeeper v2.7 an improved history view, easy sharing via Twitter, iOS 6 compatibility, and the usual round of behind-the-scenes maintenance.
