Just in time for the presidential election season in the United States, Disney has teamed up with a producer from “The Daily Show” and “The Colbert Report” to offer the interesting app Disney American Presidents: Unofficial Oval Office Scrapbook.
Based on the educational video series “The American Presidents,” the app does a great job taking a fresh and exciting look at presidential history.
Users can sit in the Oval Office and flip through an unofficial scrapbook that shows new perspectives and stories about the 44 presidents who have shaped the country. There are more than two hours of historically accurate and funny profiles of presidents from Washington to Obama.
Each president also receives his own spread with interactive elements linked to key decisions, notable characteristics, and historical legacy.
The app also include interviews with political insiders and White House officials like Bob Woodward, Paul Begala, Wesley Clark, Sam Donaldson, Melissa Harris-Perry, Robert Reich, Jon Meacham, and more.
While the app is tied to national social studies curriculum standards for grades 3-8, it looks to be fun for all ages.
Disney American Presidents: Unofficial Oval Office Scrapbook is designed only for the iPad and can be downloaded in the App Store now for $3.99.
And since it’ll probably be a while before I get to Disney World to see the famous Hall of Presidents in the Magic Kingdom, this app is a great substitute for a history nerd like me.
