Questions - Ask And Answer Lets You Spend 10 Seconds With A Stranger
Questions - Ask and Answer (Free) by Nyoombl, Inc. is a social networking app for the iPhone that lets you share some face time with others by asking and answering questions by video. Connect to Facebook and have a 10-second conversation with just about anyone in the world.
The app starts off by letting you ask or view questions. To ask a question, tap the word “ask” on the screen. Your iPhone’s camera will trigger the front-facing mode and you will have 10 seconds to ask a question. To see what others are asking, tap the word “view” on the screen.
Some people ask questions about life. For example, “If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?” or “What is the thing you are most proud of doing in life.”
Others ask silly questions like, “How common are butt implants?” and “How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop?”
No matter what the question is or who asks it, you can also answer everyone. If you know the Pythagorean theorem and someone asks about it, go ahead and record yourself answering it. If you don’t know the real answer, why not make up something funny to make us laugh?
Every question gets added to the app and every answer gets added to the question. Once the question is viewed, users will see a list of every answer that has been given so far. You can watch their answer or send your own video response.
If your questions are popular enough, they will rise to the top of the list. Even though you may receive more responses than other questions, the popularity of each one is based on how many “likes” the video clip gets.
This is a great way to interact with strangers in a casual way. It is like going to a party where no one really knows each other and small talk is the topic of every conversation. If people like what you say, you will become the most popular person at the party and more people will pay attention to you.
So far, the app seems to be keeping things clean. I watched a couple dozen of questions and never heard cuss words or saw inappropriate images. Even though it is obvious that some people are trying to generate more views by having question titles, like “HotGirlBrownEyes” and “GirlsandGuys,” the content is mostly harmless.
Presumably, the development team has people screening and removing offensive questions, but if this app gets popular enough, we may see a lot of stupid people doing brainless things just to get attention. That is the way of the world.
The app is free and very entertaining. Even if you don’t ask a single question, you’ll have fun just watching other people ask about favorite movies, best sports teams, and more. Pick it up in the app store and get to know a stranger in the most superficial way.
