AC/DC's High-Voltage Rock Music Finally Available On iTunes Store

November 19, 2012
While today might not be "just another day that you'll never forget," it's certainly a momentous day for fans of AC/DC. After much hemming and hawing, the phenomenal Australian rock band has finally agreed to make their music available on the iTunes Store. As noted by Lifehacker Australia, AC/DC is the most prominent global holdout from iTunes since The Beatles entered Apple's popular digital music store a couple of years ago:
Once the Beatles signed up, Australian hard rockers AC/DC were the biggest major act holding out from selling their music on iTunes (or in any other digital music store). That changed today, with AC/DC finally realising that if rock and roll ain’t noise pollution, you might as well make money while the download sun shines.
AC/DC's iTunes catalog features hundreds of songs and includes a couple of special bundles. Most of the band's songs may be downloaded for $1.29 each. Of course, these songs may also be downloaded by album. It's worth noting that, as pointed out by MacRumors, AC/DC previously rejected iTunes distribution "as a bid to protect the album format from the Internet's emphasis on buying single songs." "Maybe I'm just being old-fashioned," said lead singer Brian Johnson, "but this iTunes, God bless 'em, it's going to kill music if they're not careful." Alternatively, AC/DC's studio albums may be bought all at once through a $99.99 studio collection or through a $149.99 complete set. The latter anthology also includes rarities, demo tracks, four live albums, and virtually everything recorded by the band. If you're a huge AC/DC fan, then you're probably thrilled to finally be able to download "four decades of high-voltage rock 'n' roll" from the most popular digital music store in the world. Are you?
