Clear Sky Apps Fluffs Sleep Pillow, Giving A Refreshed Feel
November 9, 2012
Since being placed in the App Store nearly two years ago, Sleep Pillow has gained new sounds and not a lot more. The simple sleep app hasn't needed much more, however, Clear Sky Apps has gone ahead and added a couple nice features, plus refreshed the user interface.
Up first, we'll mention that Sleep Pillow now contains an alarm. Not required to get to sleep, this new feature is definitely helpful to wake you from the slumber or power nap you were audibly caressed into. The sound is whatever sound was selected when the alarm is set, therefore, it can be different from the sleep sound. This function does require Sleep Pillow to be the active app, which isn't necessary for utilizing the sound effects or sleep timer.
Not quite as handy, but definitely still useful, the second feature of Sleep Pillow v6.0 is a sound mixer. Selected and configured through the Mixes tab, these custom compilations of sounds can better satisfy your preferences. Saved for easy access later, you edit and create new mixes by tapping the pencil icon near the top of the screen. Mixes can consist of up to three of the built-in sounds, each with a separate volume control.
To finish things off, Clear Sky has revised the UI, including expansion for the iPhone 5 and fifth generation iPod touch. Already mentioned was the Mixes tab, but v6.0 also makes it easier to set options. Positioned at the top corners, there should be no confusion about how to modify the sleep timer and alarm due to the very blunt and large buttons. In addition, each adjustable wheel is also very straightforward.
If you haven't tried Sleep Pillow yet, go download Sleep Pillow Lite from the App Store now for an absolutely free test drive, err, snooze.
